had such an amazing night with the KP crew at Polynesian :) Me and Genae split a very large cup of dolewhip and an overpriced disney cupcake. DELICIOUS…then of course watched the amazing fireworks on the beach followed by a black and mild circle hehe…then insisted on cuddling on the hammock with genae which turned out to be a bad idea because our rides left without us… its okay though because I got to spend some awesome time on the bus with my bestie listening to some cray cray guy rap…
…and then Sean had a party which was pretty clutch. And the night ended with pizza and a friends episode with cathie, kellie, and hayley

i love my friends here :) I really don’t think I could ask for a more amazing group of people to spend my Disney adventure with
I have been a dancer since age three and have attended too many auditions to count in my lifetime. I had auditioning down to a science. From my audition hairdo to my lucky underwear (yup luck underwear), I knew all the secrets. Welllllll that was until I came to DIsney. I came down here expecting the audition process to be no different than every other audition. But no, Disney auditions are bizarre, crazy, and there is nothing you can do to prepare for them. The casting directors are looking for very specific things and if you don’t meet their guidelines then you are respectfully asked to GTFO!
here is a little recap of my auditon so far…
Number 1: FEMALE DISNEY CHARACTER LOOK-ALIKES: we were brought into a small room in groups of 50 while the casting directors stared at my friends and I to determine whether we looked like disney princesses or not. Rough! About 300 girls came to this audition hoping they would get to be a princess but about only 10 girls made it through to the next cut…..needless to say I was not one of them :( disney audition fail #1
Number 2: LION KING AUDITION: so this audition was just one big epic fail…I read online that they were looking for dancer for the show “the festival of the lion king”. I even had someone cover my shift just so I could go! I arrived and waited in line for about an hour just to find out that they were only auditioning for “the bird”. Greg, one of the disney audition directors, came out in the hallway and told us that to be considered for the part you have to be under 115 pounds and under 5’3 and if you didn’t meet the qualifications then don’t even bother coming in. My heart dropped one because I am most defiantly not 115 pounds and two because I am a good 4 inches too tall. SOO I picked up my bag and nonchalantly slipped out of line.
During my hour wait I was talking to a girl in line next to me that drove down all he way from Pennsylvania for this audition. She just finished school and was desperately in need of a job. So when I decided that there was no way in hell I was going in that room to be told I was too fat for the part, she decided to be brave and enter the room to see what would happen. I waited for about 10 minutes outside to see her outcome. After a little bit she came out crying explaining to me that as soon as she walked in she was instructed to get weighed. She ended up being 116.1 pounds. 1.1 pounds over the limit and they would not even let here any further in the audition process!!!!! Now that shiiiittt is crayyy.. disney audition fail #2
Number 3: STAR WARS CHARTER PERFORMER AND LOOK ALIKES: this one was very similar to the first one in that all we had to do was stand there and get stared at. Except for this time I had one glimmer of hope. While they were looking at all of us one of the casting directors picked me out and asked me to turn to each corner so that they could see all angles of my face. I ended up not getting picked but as dumb as it sounds being asked to turn to the side was the one bit of hope that I needed to keep returning to disney auditions. Disney Fail #3
Number 4: DCP CHARACTER PERFORMER: wasn’t even let in the doors because my end date was in august and only cast members with end dates in may/june were allowed. DIsney fail #4
Number 5: DISNEY CHARACTER PERFORMER FOR CRUISE LINES: This audition was weird…we walked in and got mesured and gave them our head shots and resume’s. This was the first audition that they didn’t give us numbers, which was bull crap because now I don’t have a cruise line number to put in my collection! grrr….anyway we were taught a “disney” style dance which is not real dance its just jazz squares and marches, and then they cut the majority of the people like usual and only kept a few to move on. Once again I was not chosen but its okay because I get sea sick anyway :P so jokes on you disney cruise line! disney fail #5
Number 6: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST/ DREAM ALONG WITH MICKEY DANCERS: this was by far my most favorite audition because we actually got to dance!!! First was our ballet audition. There were about 200 girls at this audition but only about 50 made it through the ballet round. Luckily I was one of them! :D then came the jazz round. We were taught an advanced jazz dance to the song footloose! It was super fun and I apparently did good because I made it to the final round! woot woot! ….but then I got cut. I don’t know why but I guess I just wasn’t what they were looking for. Surprising I was not that upset, i was just proud that I made it as far as I did :) disney fail #6
Number 7: HONG KONG DISNEY OOK ALIKES: so apparently hong kong needs american girls to play the disney princess because the chinese ones just aren’t cutting it. So i figured why the hell not. My friend Genae and Abby both came with me to this audition. We were split into groups of 15 this because it was a much smaller audition. Only about 80 girls showed up. Once it was out turn we went into the studio and did a short princess dance routine. It was kinda ADORABLE! from there the casting director selected a few to move on to the next round……I don’t know what kinda crazy juice this casting director was drinkin but she picked me! I was seriously shocked when she called my number…I’m pretty sure I stood there for a good 30 seconds in awwe not really knowing what to do next. Sadly my bestie Genae did not make it :( which is sad because we had this wonderful plan of going to Hong Kong together living the awesome life as disney princesses. ANyyywho, Genae, being the amazing friend that she is stayed with me until the next round of the audition. what a sweetheart <3. After all the groups finished all the girls that made it through were called back into the room again where we were taped doing the dance again. After that we were sent to the cosmetology room where we got to get dressed up! yay, I was pulled fr cinderella which is cray cray because I am pretty tan, and have really dark hair. Never in a million years would I ever think to look like cindy…but surprisingly after lots of powder, blush, and eye shadow, with of course a beautiful blond wig, I pulled of the cinderella look pretty well! It was…kinda creepy XD. After the finishing touches of my make up I was sent back in the room where they took a picture of my face from every possible angle proceed by 2 casting directors starring at me for a good 5 minuets while I stood there and smiles. It was weird/awkward/intimidating. but that was the end, thank goodness because i had to get to work anyway! So keep your fingers crosses!!! I should find out within the next few weeks if I get the job or not! ahhhhhhhh
…even if I don’t get it I will not be that upset because I got to dress up like cinderella! :D :D :D
